Super Smash Bros 4 Characters: 4 New Fighters Added to the Line-up
Nintendo announced the addition of 4 new fighters to the Super Smash Bros 4 character line-up earlier today.
The game will feature vet Captain Falcon and Fire Emblem stars Lucina Chrom and Robin. There will be both male and female versions of Robin.
The gaming company announced the new characters in a brand new video where some of them can be seen in action. See it here.
Last week Nintendo took to the internet to state that it had plans to unveil new characters on July 14. The last fighter to be added to the roster before them was Pac-Man. It now has 37 characters altogether.
Rayman will also make an appearance in the new games in the form of a new trophy. This was unveiled on the Smash Bros. MiiVerse earlier today. See it here.
"In order to make Rayman's trophy, we asked Ubisoft to share their references," said the game's director Masahiro Sakurai. "We were expecting to receive 2D drawing references for Rayman, but to our surprise, they sent us data of a brand new 3D model that they rendered for this game!! And that was how this trophy was created. It takes a lot of work creating each model, so it's wonderful that the creators contributed their own efforts."
The new Smash Bros. games will launch for both the Wii U and 3DS later this year. These will be the first official sequels to the Super Smash Bros Brawl which launched on the original Wii in 2008.
Nintendo confirmed to IGN in May that the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros will launch sometime in the summer this year. Wii U fans will have to wait until the winter to get their hands on this epic fighting title.
