'Supernatural' season 11 news, cast, spoilers: Powers of the new villain remain unknown, even to Jensen Ackles
"Supernatural" is definitely one of those shows that can keep rolling simply due to its strong and huge fan base. Also, this motivates the show to bring in fresh villains and stories every year.
This season, viewers will see the Winchester boys deal with an enemy they have not yet encountered before. During the finale of season 10, Dean and Sam witnessed the release of "The Darkness," which in itself is their main enemy. Although referred to as she, there's really not much known about what the Darkness can be fully capable of and if the Winchesters are even capable of dealing with it.
Jensen Ackles, who plays Dean, in the successful hit show recently shared with Entertainment Weekly some tidbits about what to expect. He is quoted saying, "As of right now, we have it built as one specific entity. Obviously, that would be a character that we're introducing. But whatever the reach of that character, what that character can do, we're not quite sure of. We don't know the scope of her powers. This one's interesting because it's not really a monster. It's more of a primal force that we know nothing about. There's no lore; there's no guidebook; there's no instruction manual on how to deal with this."
It would make some sense that information about this new villain would be unknown as it pre-dates angels. It has been mentioned before that The Darkness was merely a scary story for angels, as well. This season could turn out interesting, because for the first time, the Winchesters will have to go about trying various ways to kill it, unlike before when they would always get some kind of information on how to eliminate a supernatural creature.
Although some viewers have pointed out the decline of the series' quality after season 5, many of the fans of the brothers still support the show saying that it is the best show out there as of the moment. For its supporters, the adventures of the brothers only come a close second to the dynamic of the brotherhood Sam and Dean has.
