'Sword Art Online' Season 3 Rumors: Kirito and Asuna To Get Their Happy Ending?
Fans of "Sword Art Online" should prepare themselves for yet another not-so-romantic end in season 3 as spoilers suggest that Kirito and Asuna's relationship still won't see a lot of progress.
While there have been previous hints about a possibly longer romantic storyline for the two characters, recent reports now suggest that fans should lay their hopes low regarding a happily-ever-after for the two. This is especially true in novels such as "SAO," wherein happy endings shouldn't be expected much.
While a lot of fans have been pushing for a wedding to happen in season 3, it is highly unlikely since previous reports have suggested that some characters might see their end in the upcoming season.
Other outlets suggest that season 3 may not be focusing on the love between Asuna and Kirito; instead, it will possibly shed light on the new virtual world called Underworld. Kirito will be away for some time as he is busy testing the Soul Translator. Kirito will experience a lot of bad times in the Underworld and what's worse is some unfortunate event involving Asuna will make Kirito's soul suffer even more.
Some fans also speculate that a lot of things will still happen before Asuna becomes a regular, or receive a major storyline that could open doors for her relationship with Kirito to progress.
This could mean the wedding bells will be pushed further into the fourth season or probably even a fifth season. On the other hand, fans shouldn't be disappointed since the two are said to continue loving each other even through the distance. After all, the anime has closely followed through the events entailed in the novels so fans shouldn't really expect too much developments on the Asuna-Kirito romance just yet.
"Sword Art Online" was initially scheduled to release in 2015 but was pushed for release sometime in 2016.
