Tech News: Revamped iPhone Coming in 2017?
The weekend turned the world of technology into a busy realm as reports emerged with rumors that Apple is planning to release a new iPhone model in 2017 that deviates a lot from the previous models.
Apple Insider obtained a note to investors sent by KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The letter details Kuo's predictions about the 2017 device that will be out in the market. According to the famed analyst, the new model will sport a design resembling the iPhone 4's glass sandwich.
Consumers who have experienced the 4 and 4s know that the devices feature flat slabs. While the glass sandwich will be adapted by the new model, it will boast of curved panels both at the front and back portions.
Aside from the revamped outer core, Kuo says the new selection will feature AMOLED technology. Last year, some reports emerged saying Kuo predicted that Apple won't adapt AMOLED displays in the upcoming iPhones and the latest report from the often reliable analyst may suggest that the tech giant is not only revamping its new model but is also coming up with new ideas to go with the flow of consumers' preferences.
In his report, Kuo also explains that Apple may be looking at other options to make its next-generation phones look different from the rest. Kuo further predicts that Apple will most likely include face and iris scanning as well as a more improved front camera that will surely please potential buyers.
One of the more common aspects in recently released devices is the big screen. Kuo predicts a smartphone that sports a 5.8-inch screen. Compared to the 6S Plus' 5.5-inch dimensions, the upcoming model may be bigger and better.
For some years, numerous rumors suggested that fans will finally see AMOLED display in Apple devices but it turns out manufacturers lack some of the specific paraphernalia to produce millions of units that the market needs.
