'Teen Mom 2' Kailyn Lowry: 'I Was Too Young for Sex and Didn't Want to Have an Abortion,' Star Says in New Book

"Teen Mom 2" star Kailyn Lowry is now the mother of two sons and is happily married to Javi Marroquin. However, it has not been an easy path to motherhood or marriage for the star, who has revealed that she had her first sexual experience when she was in the eighth grade and later went through a traumatizing abortion.

"I was too young to understand that I wasn't ready – physically or emotionally – for sex," Lowry writes in her new memoir, "Pride Over Pity." "I believed then that I had to have sex to keep up with my friends."

The 22-year-old lost her virginity when she was only in the eighth grade, a decision she now regrets. Just one year later, she was raped by a boyfriend when she was alone with him at his home. That experience, while traumatic enough, led to a heartbreaking decision and a terrifying abortion.

"I didn't want to sleep with [him], but he persisted," Lowry writes. "Denying him seemed fruitless. I believed Toby loved me, so I decided I could give him this one thing as long as he wore a condom."

Toby did not wear a condom, and Lowry found herself pregnant at 15. After telling her mother, Lowry was informed that she "would not be allowed to deliver this baby into the world, even though deep down that was what I wanted."

"I swear they didn't just suck out my uterus," Lowry writes of the abortion she endured on her 16th birthday. "It felt as though they had taken every fiber of my being … I felt a mother's grief."

One year later, Lowry discovered she was pregnant with son Isaac and knew she couldn't go through another abortion.

"The experience had been so horrific that I couldn't really bear to consider it as an option again. Once was almost impossible to recover from, twice would mean falling into a deep depression and never bobbing up for air," she explained.

Son Isaac was born and Kailyn became a reality star on "16 & Pregnant" along with "Teen Mom 2," which airs Tuesday nights on MTV.

"Pride Over Pity" hits bookstores on April 22.
