Teens Fall to Death From Balcony While Kissing: 'They Were Doing Dangerous Stuff Up There,' Says Eyewitness
Two teens fell to their death off the balcony on while kissing deeply and intimately in London Wednesday night, according to reports. They were attending a party in Deptford and had come out on the balcony to be more intimate when witnesses say they dropped from the sixth floor.
The two teens that fell to their death off the balcony of the Knights Tower were Miguel Ramos, 18, of Mexico and Anastasia Tutik, 19 of Russia. Both were international students taking summer classes at Bellerbys College, and they were attending a party with fellow students when tragedy struck.
"They were kissing and getting quite intimate," Blessed Adedoyin, 29, told The London Evening Standard. "He lifted her up and put her on to the edge of the balcony and she had her arms around his neck … and then suddenly they just went over together and fell."
Adedoyin said she heard a loud slam as the teens crashed into the stone patio beneath.
Samson Oguntayo, 32, lives on a neighboring block and claims that the two were attempting to have sex when the accident happened.
"You could see they were doing some really dangerous stuff. At some point friends must have come outside and they got down and came back inside and then came back out again. They started doing it again," he explained to Daily Mail. "You see people on the balcony doing all sorts of things and I just felt they will probably go back inside."
"The last thing I expected was to see them falling down. We just screamed," he added.
Adedoyin, Oguntayo and others all called police and emergency services, but nothing could be done for the teens. Ramos and Tutik died shortly afterwards.
Authorities investigating the incident don't believe there was any foul play involved, and are talking with the families who have flown in.
"We believe this was a tragic accident involving two young people who were students attending a local college. … Our thoughts are with the family and friends of these young people," Detective Chief Superintendent Helen Millichap, borough commander for Greenwich, said in a statement.
