Teresa Giudice Gets First Prison Visit From Husband Joe and Daughters

Teresa Giudice got her first visit from her husband and daughters since reporting to jail last Jan. 5. "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star was reportedly supposed to see them last weekend, but a source told Us Weekly that the mother of four wanted to keep things as normal as possible for the girls and that their daily activities should not be disrupted because of her.

"This was the first time Teresa, 42, got to see her family since she reported to Danbury, Connecticut's Federal Correctional Institution on Jan. 5, for her 15 month sentence," Us Weekly reported.

Last week, it was been reported that Giudice's prison sentence has been shortened to 13 months. According to RadarOnline, the reality star is being kept busy as the website's source says that she has been working out and has kept her mind occupied.

"She's doing great. People are being very nice to her," said the source.

Giudice's lawyer also said last week that she is doing great and that everyone has treated her well.

"She's doing great. I got a series of emails from her and she is doing phenomenally. It seems like she is getting acclimated very well. She tells me that everybody is nice and everybody is treating her respectfully. She said both the staff and the inmates are being nice to her and that she is getting along fine," said Giudice's lawyer.

Meanwhile, the star's eldest daughter Gia, 14, is said to be feeling responsible for filling her mother's shoes while she's behind bars.

According to a source from RadarOnline, "Teresa and Gia always had more of a friendship than a traditional mother-daughter relationship."

"Gia is stepping into the mother role. It comes naturally since even when Teresa was around Gia was frequently responsible for disciplining her siblings," the insider said.
