Tesla 'Model Y' Might Also Have Falcon-Wing Doors, According to Elon Musk
Latest news for Tesla cars are very much in demand, ever since last week's debut of the Tesla Model X crossover.
Fans and car enthusiasts got all excited upon the reveal of Tesla Model X because of its beautiful falcon-wing doors.
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has now even teased Tesla fans with another news, which is the existence of he Model Y.
The CEO revealed this information last week via Twitter, when he replied to a fan. The fan mentioned Musk in his tweet and said, "Not gonna lie, I'd sell my soul to @elonmusk for one. Please tell me the Model III crossover will have these doors!" Musk then replied with, "There will be a Model 3 and a Model Y. One of the two will."
According to Ars Technica UK, Model 3 will certainly not have falcon-wing doors, since Model 3 is a "smaller, cheaper version of the Model S." The rumor of another Tesla car having the rear doors as "falcon-wing" just now points to the Model Y, since the website also claims it to be the "smaller, cheaper version of the Model X."
The "Model Y" has been trademarked before by the car company in 2013, which is also about the same time it did the same for the "Model E." However, Ford already sued Tesla over using the name "Model E," so Tesla changed it to "Model 3," which is depicted as three horizontal bars (≡).
According to MSN, Musk already deleted the tweet that confirms Model Y's existence. However, if it is true, then Tesla will now have (pun intended) Model S, ≡, X, Y, and Roadster in its lineup. Car lovers can't help but love Tesla's tenacious but humorous attitude, since Tesla is also the company that started a stereo volume that goes all the way to level 11, instead of 10.
Just like the fan who tweeted Musk, all other Tesla lovers will "anxiously wait" for any new Model Y news.
