'The Affair' Renewed or Canceled News: Noah and Alison's Story Continues for Another Season

Showtime recently confirmed the renewal of "The Affair," and fans could not be any happier upon hearing the news. The current season of the series is coming to an end, but viewers can rest assured that the story of Noah (Dominic West) and Alison (Ruth Wilson) will continue once the show returns next year.

According to Variety, the cable network made the announcement of the renewal last Wednesday, Dec. 9. Some fans were not surprised with "The Affair's" renewal for a third season since the TV drama is critically acclaimed, and is considered as one of the most-watched premium cable TV series. The show won this year's Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Drama and the award for the Best Actress in a TV Series Drama was won by the female lead, Ruth Wilson.

Besides "The Affair," Showtime's other TV series, "Homeland" was also renewed by the network, and it will be the show's sixth season, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Meanwhile, it is only two episodes away before "The Affair" season 2 ends, and in the upcoming episode, Noah will discover that Alison has been keeping a secret from him. The secret is about Alison's withdrawal from med school, and the best-selling author is mad that his partner kept him in the dark about it.

In the sneak peek released for the next episode, Noah told Max (Josh Stamberg), his best friend, about him not being able to trust Alison anymore. However, Max just flat out told Noah that he can't expect trust, or honesty, will come out of their relationship, since they both started it with an affair. Fans can't wait to see how Noah will confront Alison about this.
