'The Bachelorette' 2016 News: Fans Divided Over ABC's Announcement of New Bachelorette

In the wake of "The Bachelor's" finale, fans are still debating on ABC's announcement about the next "Bachelorette" to warm the hearts of reality television.

Following the heart-breaking moments that pushed JoJo Fletcher to go home on Monday's finale of "The Bachelor" season 20, the blindsided gal is now ready for another shot at love as she was announced as the next "Bachelorette." However, some fans aren't so happy with the news.

Host Chris Harrison announced in "After the Final Rose" that Joelle "JoJo" will be the upcoming star of "The Bachelorette" 2016 and though the recently dumped lady said she is looking forward to the next journey of love, there have been earlier reports that she wasn't initially the first choice.

After Caila Quinn was dumped in Jamaica, fans speculated that she would become the next "Bachelorette." She was reportedly spotted filming her intro clip for the upcoming season, giving fans further reason to believe that she was being eyed for the reality show's next installment.

While many viewers expressed support and love for JoJo, some pointed out that ABC has once again ignited rage over its lack of diversity in picking the show's main stars. Inquisitr notes that diversity has always been an issue in the network. With Caila, ABC might have squashed the rage of fans who believe the stars should be more diverse as much as its contestants are.

Despite the division on social media, there is some relief after Entertainment Tonight exclusively reported that a source said ABC's decision was made in the last minute. This created more speculation that Caila was initially chosen but due to the division among fans on social media, JoJo was chosen to replace her instead.

Typically, televiewers found JoJo more deserving after Ben Higgins broke her heart. As fans already know, Ben Higgins told her he loved her but in the end, he let her go and proposed to Lauren B.

There is no official air date announced yet for "The Bachelorette" 2016.
