'The Big Bang Theory' Season 9 Spoilers: June Squibb Makes An Appearance In Episode 14; Raj Meets New Girl
When "The Big Bang Theory" season 9 returns to the small screen for its next episode, Sheldon (Jim Parson) is going to have a visitor and it's another important woman in his life—his maternal grandmother. According to a spoiler report by Design and Trend, veteran actress June Squibb ("Nebraska," "About Schmidt") will be playing the role of Meemaw.
She will be making her debut in episode 14 which will be titled as "Meemaw Materialization." As noted in Entertainment Weekly, Meemaw has been talked about by Sheldon several times already throughout the show. And after nine seasons, the gang will finally meet the "never-before-seen grandmother" including Amy (Mayim Bialik).
According to the released synopsis found in Spoilers Guide, Sheldon is thrilled to have his grandmother who lovingly addresses him as Moonpie. But it seems like the feeling of excitement won't last too long when Meemaw begins to "butt heads" with his girlfriend. International Business Times noted that Meemaw will not like Amy at first after finding out she broke up with Sheldon in the season 8 finale.
But Sheldon will defend her and eventually Meemaw and Amy will hit it off. Spoilers also revealed that Meemaw will have a slip of the tongue and will divulge that Sheldon was secretly planning to propose to her. She will also tell Amy about the ring, and fans are excited to know what her reaction will be when she finally sees it.
Meanwhile, Raj (Kunal Nayyar) will be having his own drama as the synopsis revealed that he will meet a new girl at the comic store named Claire, who will be played by Alessandra Torresani). This will unfortunately make him have second thoughts about his relationship with Emily (Laura Spencer), which will be addressed on episode 15 as Raj will be breaking up with Emily.
"The Big Bang Theory" season 9 episode 14 will air on Feb. 4 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
