'The Big Bang Theory' Spoilers: Kunal Nayyar Optimistic for Season 11 and 12 Renewal
News about "The Big Bang Theory's" 10th season has been long confirmed; however, there's no update whether the show will be picked up for an 11th and 12th season. Kunal Nayyar, the actor who plays the brilliant but often shy astrophysicist Dr. Rajesh "Raj" Koothrappali, reveals that he hopes that the show will continue on for seasons 11 and 12.
During his interview with Miami Herald, Nayyar said that he hopes to continue playing Raj in the show, but he said that it is "not entirely" up to him. "Even if we do season 11 or 12, it's a very odd sensation this year. We are all feeling quite nostalgic. We're so close. We have each other's back. We keep it private on set and really love each other. It's going to be very hard to adjust to going back to what is normal, since this is my normal, if that makes sense." There's no doubt that "The Big Bang Theory" holds the number 1 spot for the best comedy series list today, and fans are really hoping that the show will stay for two or three more years.
Meanwhile, Amy (Mayim Bialik) and Sheldon's (Jim Parsons) relationship is set to take the next level after it's been confirmed by the show's executive producer, Steve Malaro, on Twitter. "SAY WHAT?! #BigBangTheory EP Steve Molaro confirms coitus is in #Shamy's near future," he revealed on the official 'Big Bang Theory' account.
Amy and Sheldon broke up at the end of "The Big Bang Theory" season 8, and throughout the new season, things have been awkward between the two. In the last episode of the show, before it took its Thanksgiving break, Amy wanted to get back together with Sheldon but the latter just said he wanted to be just friends with her. Amy was seen holding back her tears when he said it, and fans wonder how the two will become "intimate" if they have not gotten back together yet.
The official statement from Malaro about ShAmy's "big event" reads, "After over five years of dating, we felt the time was right for Sheldon and Amy to finally consummate their relationship, and we're so excited for the audience to see the journey over the next several episodes."
"The Big Bang Theory" is broadcast every Thursday on CBS; however, the next episode has no air date yet.
