'The Flash/Supergirl' Crossover News, Update: CBS, The CW Announces Two Superheroes Coming Together This Spring
The most awaited crossover between DC superheroes Flash of The CW's "The Flash," and Kara Zor-El of CBS' "Supergirl," is finally happening and fans couldn't get more excited for this special small screen event.
CBS reports that on Tuesday, Feb. 2, the two networks had announced that two of their respective superheroes will meet this coming spring.
As further detailed, Grant Gustin's Barry Allen will appear in the upcoming 18th episode of the Melissa Benoist-starred series. The episode is set to premiere on March 28.
Sharing more details about the crossover is none other than Gustin himself who recently took to his social media to post a photo of what seems to be the front page of the script for the said segment.
As revealed in his Instagram account, the episode will be called "World's Finest" and is written by Andrew Kreisberg and Michael Grassi, from the story by Greg Berlanti.
Plot details about the special will reportedly be announced at a later date. Speculations, however, indicate that there could be more than one Earth that will be featured in the crossover. Sources close to the two series also claim that the event will just be one-way as it is only Barry who is capable of crossing dimensions while Supergirl, at present, still can't.
"We are so incredibly excited to announce something that we have dreamed of happening since we starting making 'Supergirl' -'The Flash' and 'Supergirl' are teaming up!" said 'The Flash' and 'Supergirl' executive producers Berlanti and Kreisberg, according to Entertainment Weekly.
"We want to thank Grant Gustin for making the time to come visit (on top of his already immense workload) and all of the folks at CBS, The CW, Warner Bros., and DC for working this out. And finally thanks to the fans and journalists who have kept asking for this to happen. It is our pleasure and hope to create an episode worthy of everyone's enthusiasm and support."
"The Flash" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on The CW while "Supergirl" airs every Monday at 8 p.m. on CBS.
