'The Originals' season 3 news, cast, spoilers: Viewers will see more of Rebekah and Klaus alienated
"The Originals" season 3 is up for a more exciting season as new characters, as well as previous ones, will be once again seen by fans. However, one of the favorites that many are hoping to see more would be Rebekah, as her history is certainly as colorful as her personality.
With a show dominated by males, a powerful woman like Rebekah spices things up. So when she initially went away in the first season, many thought it would be the last of her. Originally played by Claire Holt, it surprised fans when her character was brought back with Maise Richardson-Sellers portraying the role. This turnover, which was explained in the storyline, was apparently brought on by a spell gone wrong. Richardson-Sellers does a decent job of the role, however, many still prefer Holt as Rebekah.
According Cartermatt, Holt, however, will not entirely be out of the picture this coming season as she will be in more scenes in flashbacks. Michael Narducci, executive producer, told E! News, "Claire is phenomenal and we love to have her on the show … We've got a whole flashback story line that she will participate in, and then we have some ideas on how we might see Rebekah again in present day in both bodies. Not at the same time!"

This mention of flashbacks would apparently be a major part of the new season, as the story of the early years of the Mikaelsons will be told. Executive producer Julie Plec shares with Entertainment Weekly, "We have a whole series of flashbacks over the first chapter that tell the story of the Originals' first year as vampires before the word 'vampire' had even been assigned to them, and them learning what they were capable of, where they could fit in, how they could adopt the manners of a rich and cultured family even though they were tattered Vikings on the run."
There is also the mention of The Trinity, and the flashbacks would also tackle their origins and where their anger toward the original vampire is rooting from.
The Originals season 3 will be airing on Oct. 8 on The CW.
