'The Originals' Season 5 Spoilers: Caroline Reunites With Klaus in Europe
A fan-favorite from "The Vampire Diaries" is heading back to "The Originals."
Season 4 of "The Originals" wrapped up with Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) dropping off her daughter Hope (Summer Fontana) at the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young and Gifted. The special school is run by "The Vampire Diaries" character Caroline Forbes (Candice King) and Alaric Saltzman (Matt Davis).
In the next season, Hope (Danielle Rose Russell) will be re-introduced as a grown-up lady. Since Caroline will serve as Hope's mentor, there is a huge chance the "Vampire Diaries" character will also cross paths with the young girl's father, Klaus (Joseph Morgan).
Entertainment Weekly reports Caroline's meet up with Klaus will not be a simple run such as happening coincidentally. Instead, she will be heading to Europe to search for Klaus and deliver an important message on Rebekah's (Claire Holt) orders. Klaus' former flame has been tasked to personally give him a dose of reality since Rebekah can't go to Europe herself because of The Hollow situation.
"[Caroline's] just got so much life in her," series creator and showrunner Julie Plec previously said during the San Diego Comic Con (via TV Guide). "She just brings the spirits up of people around her. There's just something great about watching Caroline call Klaus on his s**t."
Reports point out that viewers should lower their expectations on the Klaroline reunion. Caroline may not be too involved in Klaus' life next season because King is only slated to appear in two out of the 13 episodes in season 5. That being said, it is also possible that fans will not see the two characters together frequently. Caroline is scheduled to appear on the premiere episode of season 5.
"The Originals" season 5 premieres midseason 2018 on The CW. An exact release date has yet to be announced by the network.
