'The Orville' Season 1 Spoilers: Charlize Theron Guest Stars on Next Thursdays Episode
Next Thursday on FOX's science fiction drama "The Orville," Ed (Seth MacFarlane) is smitten with the captain of a stranded ship they just saved., but Kelly (Adrianne Palicki) is not as convinced about their new guest.
As revealed in the synopsis for episode 5 of "The Orville," titled "Pria," the ship's captain will fancy the commander of another spacecraft, who might not be who she appears to be. But who could blame him? After all, their guest star will be the Academy Award-winning actress Charlize Theron. She will portray Pria Lavesque, the captain of a mining craft.
The crew of Orville will meet Pria and presumably the rest of her crew after they save them from colliding with a comet.

A few stills of the upcoming episode published on Entertainment Weekly tease Theron's appearance on the show. The "Atomic Blonde" has her golden locks in a bob. She also has a fringe.
In one of the photos, which most likely is after Pria's ship is saved by the Orville, medical specialist Dr. Claire Finn (Penny Johnson Jerald) is treating the injured Pria. But there seems to be nothing serious, as she can be seen giving the doctor a thumbs up.
Through the series of photos, Pria can be seen wearing different outfits, but one, in particular, makes her look regal and commanding, enough to make anyone wonder about her identity. Little is known about her role but there might be more than what it will initially appear to be.
Elsewhere in the episode, Gordon will teach Isaac how to pull off a practical joke.
McFarlane and Theron both starred in the 2014 western comedy film "A Million Ways to Die," which MacFarlane produced and helmed.
"The Orville" season 1 episode 5, titled "Pria," airs Thursday, Oct. 5 at 9 p.m. ET on FOX.
