'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' News: Season 5 Recap of Episode 'Surprise'
Last week on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," Eileen Davidson and Lisa Rinna try to help Kim and Kyle Richards, only to realize that doing so may not lead to anything good at all.
Brandi is on a 21-day cleanse guided by Yolanda. Yolanda tells her that she should try to live healthy and ditch all of her vices, but Brandi is only doing the cleanse to prove to the other girls that she is not an alcoholic.
Kyle visits Lisa Vanderpump and bemoans her relationship with her sister. She feels that Kim is willing to turn her back on her because of her friendship with Brandi. Lisa tells her to ignore Brandi and be the bigger person.
Later, Brandi seeks guidance from her friend Jennifer, who also happens to be a professional sobriety coach, about Kim's behavior. Jennifer says that Kim needs a therapist, a new group of friends, and some treatment. Then, Brandi receives a call from Ken, and he's inviting her to Lisa's birthday. Brandi is delighted by the invitation, but Ken reminds her to be on her best behavior if she decides to show up.
Meanwhile, Eileen invites everyone—except Brandi—to her place to help her do a test read through of a screenplay written by her husband Vince. Lisa Rinna rides with Lisa V. to Eileen's house. Rinna is concerned about Kim's behavior and feels like they should do something to help her. Vanderpump says that it's a bad idea to get involved.
At Eileen's read through, the girls have fun, and later Lisa R. talks to Kim in the kitchen and asks her what's going on. Kim confides that it's hard caring for Monty and sometimes, she just wants to let loose and have fun with a friend, and that's what she loves about Brandi, that she's always up for that.
It's time for Lisa V.'s party, and the girls surprise her. Everyone is there, including Brandi, and Kyle asks Ken why Brandi was invited. Later, the birthday girl asks Brandi to sing Happy Birthday to her, and she does. Afterwards, the ladies have a little karaoke session.
At the end of the party, Eileen tells Kyle that everyone is worried about Kim and that they all want her to get help. Kyle tells her not to meddle in Kim's affairs, ever.
