'The Real Housewives of New York' News: Bethenny Frankel Continues to Deal with Drama After Ex-Husband's Arrest

"The Real Housewives of New York" may not be on air right now but that doesn't mean that the cast members of the long-running reality series get to take a break from all the drama in their lives. One particular person going through a tough ordeal right now is Bethenny Frankel whose ex-husband, Jason Hoppy, was recently arrested for allegedly harassing and stalking the reality star.

Hoppy had reportedly sent Frankel a series of abusive emails and threatened her when he showed up at their daughter Brynn's school.

"On Friday, Jan. 27, the suspect approached her and a friend at her child's school at around 8:15 a.m. and tried to provoke a fight. He said, 'I will destroy you, you can get all the lawyers you want, you've been warned," a spokeswoman from the New York City Police Department told Page Six.

Hoppy was said to have been upset after Frankel and her current boyfriend, Dennis Shields, showed up on a day he had custody. Frankel, on the other hand, was there to watch Brynn's performance.

According to reports, this was the last straw for Frankel as she decided to take legal action and file a report with the New York Police Department (NYPD). Frankel now has a temporary order of protection that bars Hoppy from making any kind of contact until July 27.

This latest development seems to be a significant setback for Frankel as she previously revealed that she was ready to move on after nearly four years of divorce proceedings.

"It's been a little gnarly. It's been a rough couple of years that felt endless and I swear this is it. It's going to be behind me. I've taken charge of my own life. I've taken steps that this bad chapter is behind me," she said.

According to E! Online, it's possible that Frankel's continued struggles involving her ex-husband may not be featured in the upcoming season of "The Real Housewives of New York" as most of Frankel's divorce drama were also not featured in the previous seasons of the reality series.

Bravo has not announced a premiere date for season 9 of "The Real Housewives of New York" but the upcoming installment is expected to air in mid-2017.
