'The Real Housewives of Santa Barbara' Updates: Rumors about Bravo's Plan for the Third California-Based Series Resurface

While earlier reports on "The Real Housewives of Santa Barbara" were proven to be just rumors, the latest reports claim that talks about the third California-based "The Real Housewives" reality series may just be more than speculations after all.

Talks about "The Real Housewives of Santa Barbara" first surfaced years ago. While the idea got the fans of the franchise excited then, Bravo burst the bubble as it denied it had a plan of producing one. However, recently, talks about the reality series have resurfaced as unconfirmed reports claim that the would-be third California-based "The Real Housewives" franchise may even arrive as early next year.

Reportedly, plans for "The Real Housewives of Santa Barbara" were already taking shape years ago as casting for the show had even been conducted. Now, it is alleged that the casting company behind "The Real Housewives of Dallas" will be the same group of people who have been assigned to take charge of the casting for "The Real Housewives of Santa Barbara."

According to sources, "The Real Housewives of Santa Barbara" will be based out of the Montecito area, which is home to some big names in tinsel town, including Oprah Winfrey, Drew Barrymore, Tom Cruise, Michael Douglas, Ellen Degeneres, Steve Martin, John Travolta, and Bruce Willis. While Bravo has yet to make an announcement on "The Real Housewives of Santa Barbara," it is already alleged to feature some familiar faces to compose its cast in the event that the reality series will proceed as planned.

"The Real Housewives" franchise has seven versions based on different locations, including Atlanta, Beverly Hills, the Potomac, Dallas, Orange County, New Jersey, and New York City. Whether there will be another version of the show to be based in California as an addition to "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" and "The Real Housewives of Orange County," fans can only speculate for now until Bravo makes an official announcement.
