'The Voice' News: The First Night of the Live Playoffs Started with Team Adam and Team Gwen

The official start of the Live Playoffs aired last night, and "The Voice" fans saw members of Team Adam and Team Gwen take the stage.

During the Live Playoffs of "The Voice," the six singers from each team will perform, and based on viewer's votes and coach's pick, only three of them will remain in the competition. According to Entertainment Weekly, another twist was also added to the reality singing competition, where a coach can pick one of the artists that was eliminated from their team to have a chance to come back in the running to become "The Voice."

Twelve singers performed during the Monday episode of the show, and they were from Team Adam and team Gwen. First on stage was Blaine Mitchell, who sang "Never Tear Us Apart" by INXS. According to New York Daily News, the song allowed him to "show off his voice and his personality."

Regina Love was next, and she sang Adele's new single, "Hello." The singer definitely delivered, which was hard for Keith Semple to follow after. The latter sang "To Be With You" by Mr. Big. Entertainment Weekly described Semple's song choice as "lightweight."

Next was Shelby Brown, and she sang Linda Ronstadt's "You're No Good." The young vocalist look at home on stage during her performance. Korin Bukowski sang "Adia" by Sara McLachlan, and the singer looked nervous, according to the report.

Gwen's comeback choice was Ellie Lawrence, and the singer chose to sing "Ex's & Oh's" by Elle King. The NY Daily News said it's the best performance to date by Lawrence. Jeffery Austin was next, and he sang "Say You Love Me" by Jessie Ware. Adam believes that Austin "could win it all," with his stellar performance.

Braiden Sunshine sang "Everything I Own" by Bread, but the teenager failed to connect with the audience. Next is the jazzy Amy Vachal, who sang Frank Sinatra's "The Way You Look Tonight," and some reports mentioned that compared to the big vocals of the season, Vachal's voice was "refreshing."

Viktor Kiraly peformed next, and he sang Lisa Stansfield's "All Around the World." Some say that he was over dramatic, but with his large number of followers, many expect him to stay in the competition for quite a while. Adam's comeback was announced after, and it was Chance Pena. He sang The Civil Wars' "Barton Hallow," and his fans hope that it is enough to keep him in the competition.

Last act of the night was Jordan Smith's, who sang "Halo" by Beyonce. He got a standing ovation at the end of his song, and all judges praised his vocals.

Team Blake and Team Pharrell will perform tonight on "The Voice," on NBC.
