"The Walking Dead" Season 7: A Daryl Dixon Exit? Fans Threaten to Riot

A message from the producer did not provide specifics on the beloved character's fate.

"The Walking Dead" fandom has been waiting all summer long to know who died in the final moments of the Season 6 finale. It was clear that someone was killed by Lucille, Negan's barbwire wrapped bat. AMC further flamed the issue by releasing a video clip that clearly made fans from all over worry that their favorite character Daryl Dixon suffered that unfortunate fate.

Internet Chants

Fans chanting "If Daryl dies, we riot" flooded the internet. The finale of last season has become the most polarizing cliffhanger known, with fans doing anything and everything to know Daryl's fate. Much love is being given to the character played by Norman Reedus in the series. A closer look at the video clip of the zombie blockbuster spells good news for Daryl's fans after all. Through the clip, it was revealed that the popular character is 100% not likely to meet the Grim Reaper yet.

First off, the video clip didn't show Daryl at all, but instead featured a known thief named Dwight. He was wearing Daryl's signature angel wing vest, and riding his hog. It turns out that the video clip was the perfect way to keep the fans in suspense and prolong the cliffhanger effect of Daryl getting killed off in the series.

The fans got worried because Daryl was created specifically for the TV show, and was not based on any character in the comic. Avid viewers did not have a point of reference, since the series did not exactly follow the storylines in the comic book.

Producer's Message to Fans

The message said that the fans know the beginning and that "it's almost here". He further disclosed that the beginning is "someone's end". Scott Gimple further said that the first episode of "The Walking Dead" Season 7 will shatter the lives of the survivors. The narrative will go into different trajectories, where the characters will be seen in completely new situations. He also alluded to the coming events being torn from the pages of the comic and being remixed in the "The Walking Dead's" 'reximinator5000'.

Negan Faking It Out

Who was killed in the climactic scene? The question remains unanswered. Only one from among five people —Rick, Carl, Maggie, Glenn and Abraham—was the likely victim of Negan. They all volunteered to have the honor of being made a sacrifice to Lucille.

However, being the showman that he is, Negan could just be faking his victim out. This villain can select the best choice to be his victim, and it could very well be Daryl. Negan is certainly aware of him blowing up Bud and the Saviors. Daryl also has gone head-to-head with Dwight so he has a reason to choose him.

It is really hard to tell if Daryl is safe or not. "The Walking Dead" Season 7 is really going to great lengths to keep the identity of the victim is a secret.
