'The Young and the Restless' spoilers, plot news: Michael Easton heading to another soap?

"The Young and the Restless" (Y&R) has been recently reported to lead the dying genre of daytime soaps. So it should not be a surprise if many actors want to take the opportunity of joining the show, such as the recently available Michael Easton.

Easton was shockingly fired from "General Hospital" (GH) as Dr. Silas Clay. Without any warning or indication, many were taken aback by the decision of his premature death. Due to this, a petition came up for Easton to be taken by another soap. Michael Easton had already dropped a hint that he has already been contacted by another show.

According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, Easton had an interview with Soaps in Depth, where he was asked whether he was thinking of joining other soaps like Y&R, "The Bold and the Beautiful," or even making a comeback to "Days of Our Lives" as Tanner Scofield.

He replied, "Someone called and inquired, but I would have to think long and hard about it. I just want the next part to be the right part." With that being said, it already seems that an offer is out there and it's just up to Easton to decide whether he would take it or not. If it was indeed Y&R, then it would definitely be a good opportunity for him to join the number 1 soap in daytime television.

Easton was recently voted as the number 1 actor on ABC in a poll held for readers of Soaps in Depth. This is despite not having a main story line whatsoever. Many felt that Easton was a loss to GH, but in the end, if he does end up being part of Y&R, then it would benefit both him and the show.

Y&R is continuously enjoying good ratings, as actors, producers, and writers all enjoy working with one another. This would definitely be a breath of fresh air, after Easton implied that his dismissal from GH was due to a rocky relationship with the writers.

Fans can wait and see if Easton would indeed join The Young and The Restless as it airs every weekdays on CBS.
