'Thor: Ragnarok' News: Director Still Unsure If Hulk Will Be More Verbal

Over the years, the Hulk has contributed a lot in the success of Marvel movies, but as expected, the depth of his consciousness in "Thor: Ragnarok" is still unknown.

Apparently, even director Taika Waititi is unsure of how Mark Ruffalo's Hulk will be in terms of being verbal. In a recent interview with Hitfix, the director said, "It's interesting, because at the moment, there's a big conversation that's happening about how far to push that. Whether or not The Hulk should be [verbal/conscious]."

For many years, fans have long been requesting for a more verbal Hulk in the Marvel movies such as "Avengers," and this time, in "Thor." While the human Bruce Banner is very much verbal, his green monster usually grunts and makes other grumpy sounds.

Production knows how fans would be excited to see a talking or conscious Hulk in the movie, especially since Ruffalo needs to have more screen time. In "Avengers: Age of Ultron," Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow was able to tame the big guy somehow. The scene made fans believe that they will see a Hulk who can recognize everything around him in the near future.

While there is no confirmation about the possibility, Waititi and his team won't close doors on the idea of giving fans what they want. Referring to the possibility of a completely conscious Hulk in future Marvel movies (probably "Thor 3"), he said, "I think we all want that. I think we all want to see that development and the evolution of that character."

On the other hand, he noted that for this to happen, there are a lot of things to be considered and production would have to determine if a verbal Hulk is the best ideas for upcoming movies involving the character. After all, the green, big monster, was introduced without the ability to speak and he is still lovable even without turning back to his human form.

"Thor: Ragnarok" hits the big screens on Nov. 3, 2017.
