Tim McGraw Facing Lawsuit After Fan Slap Incident? Woman Demands Apology (VIDEO)

Tim McGraw could be slapped with a lawsuit two weeks after he was captured on video slapping a female fan.

The country music star, 47, was performing his hit song "Truck Yeah" at Aaron's Amphitheatre at Lakewood in Atlanta on July 13 when a woman in the audience identified as Jesslyn Taylor slapped his knee and reached for his groin.

McGraw, who is married to famed country pop singer Faith Hill, 46, reacted by swatting Taylor across the face before she was escorted out of the venue by security. She has since hired Georgia-based personal injury attorney Eric Hertz and reportedly wants a settlement, according to TMZ.com.

McGraw's rep insists that the singer's actions were justified, however, Taylor is reportedly intent on taking legal action.

"He instinctively swatted to try to keep them from ripping his jeans (which they succeeded at doing!), and so he could get to more fans who could slap hands with him before the end of the show," McGraw's rep explained to TMZ.

Hertz claims that like other enthusiastic fans in the audience, Taylor was just taking part in the "interactive environment" because she merely wanted to touch McGraw. He also said the incident left her feeling humiliated and she wants the singer to apologize.

Last week McGraw broke his silence regarding the matter and he described the incident as "unfortunate" but urged the public to "move on."

"Sometimes things can lose context and perspective. I reacted in an instinctive, defensive way from my perspective of what was going on. I think it was an unfortunate situation. … I think you just got to move on." McGraw told ET Canada. "It is one of those things that happen, nobody feels good about it, but there's nothing that could be done about it."

McGraw is currently gearing up for the September release of his latest album Sundown Heaven Town.
