Top Scorers List for Men's Basketball in Rio 2016 Olympics: Team USA's Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony Included

Team USA is currently at the top of Rio 2016 Olympics men's basketball standings, with an impressive winning streak of 4-0. But given the fact that the national team struggled during their past two games with Australia and Serbia, it is still too early to predict if the reigning Olympic men's basketball champion will be able to defend their title.

As the preliminary round of Rio 2016 Olympics men's basketball heats up, some players underperformed while others exceeded expectations. So far, here are the top five scorers in the men's basketball of the international sporting event.

As of press time, per FIBA, Mills and Yi lead the top scorers of men's basketball in the Rio Games, with 82 points in four games. But as the game progresses, it is expected that Mills will overtake Yi's record because Australia (3-1) still has a chance of advancing to the next round.

Mills, who is the point guard of San Antonio Spurs, averaged 20.5 points, 2.0 assists and 2.3 rebounds. Moreover, despite the fact that China did not win any game in the preliminary round, Yin, who plays for Guangdong Southern Tigers in the Chinese Basketball Association, recorded an impressive average of 20.5 points, 0.8 assists and 7.8 rebounds.

2. Miroslav Raduljica of Serbia – 77 Points

Serbia almost beat Team USA on Friday, however, their current record of 1-3 in the preliminary round diminished their chances of advancing to the next level of the Rio 2016's basketball competition. The team is led by Raduljica who made 77 points in four games. The 7-foot center averaged 19.3 points, 1.8 assists and 2.5 rebounds.

3. Bojan Bogdanović of Croatia – 74 Points

Technically, Bogdanović of Croatia (2-1) is the top scorer of the men's basketball in the Rio games because he has already made 74 points in three games, compared to Mills, Yi and Raduljica who have played four games. The 27-year-old shooting guard of the Brooklyn Nets has already recorded an impressive average of 24.7 points, 2.3 assists and 5.3 rebounds.

4. Kevin Durant of USA – 67 Points

Newly signed forward of Golden State Warriors is currently the leading scorer of Team USA in the Rio Games, with 67 points in the first four games of his second Olympic appearance. The 35-year-old NBA star, who is part of the winning team in the London 2012 Olympics, averaged 16.8 points, 3.3 assists and 4.0 rebounds.

5. Carmelo Anthony of USA – 66 Points

Per ESPN, Anthony, who has played for Team USA in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics, surpassed the record of LeBron James on Wednesday as the all-time top scorer in the history of US men's national basketball team. Aside from breaking the record, Anthony is also among the top five scorers of the Rio Games, with 66 points in four games. So far, the 32-year-old power forward of the New York Knicks averaged 16.5 points, 1.8 assists and 5.3 rebounds.
