'Total War: Rome 2' News: Game's Latest DLC, 'Empire Divided,' Arrives Later This Month

"Total War: Rome 2" is getting a major expansion with the arrival of its "Empire Divided" DLC (downloadable content) later this month.

According to reports, "Empire Divided" is set in 270 AD and will have the players finding the Roman Empire losing its grip to the world and at the risk of being taken advantage of its enemies because of its weakened state. The DLC will offer 10 playable factions across covering five different cultures, and five of the factions featured in it, including Rome, are considered heroic as they have more involved, narrative-led victory conditions and unique leaders that cannot die in battles.

Kotaku opines that Empire Divided clearly took inspiration from some of the improvements made in the "Warhammer" games because of its focus on heroic leaders that have unique tech trees and units while exploring the stories of each of these characters. The game's dreary map is also expected to liven up with the arrival of the DLC as it will bring bandit camps, plagues, and cults into the game.
