'Total War: Warhammer' DLC News Details: Free 'Bretonnia Race Pack' Coming in Feb. 28
Strategy game "Total War: Warhammer" is about to receive a new downloadable content pack for free on Tuesday, Feb. 28, as confirmed by its publisher, Sega.
Along with a newly released trailer, the DLC, which is called the "Bretonnia Race Pack," will introduce the chivalrous Bretonnian race into the game while expanding its roster for custom and multi-player battles.
Bretonnia will be known as a feudal society in the game, and a player's actions will depend on its chivalry meter that can be improved by winning heroic battles and completing missions. In its Steam description, Bretonnia is described as a society that "revolves around a deeply ingrained code of chivalry, and her people offer fealty to their Goddess, The Lady of The Lake."
For players who are able to maintain a high chivalry level, access will be given to "The Errantry War," a new type of endgame objective. A player's chivalry level can also help keep peasants under control and give bonus units experience and less corruption.
The DLC also includes the addition of three legendary lords - one each from Bretonnia, Bordeleaux and Carcasonne, plus several new additions and features. A new legendary Green Knight can also be summoned when a player direly needs it.
The Green Knight is a fabled character in Bretonnia's folklore who is believed to be its sacred protector and a traditional enemy of Questing Knights. The Green Knight is known to initiate duels among Questing Knights as a way to prove their worth to the Lady of the Lake.
The expansion is already listed on Steam and will be officially released by Feb. 28, but members of "Total War Access" from the "Total War" forums can get early access of the DLC by Feb. 27.
"Total War: Warhammer" was released with critical acclaim last year and made its way to the top 25 games of 2016, according to GameSpot.
