Tracy Morgan Transferred to Rehab Facility: 'He Still Has A Long Way to Go'

Actor and comedian Tracy Morgan has been moved from the hospital in New Jersey to a rehab center, where he will undergo intensive treatment for injuries sustained in a serious traffic accident. Morgan's family has asked for prayer and continued support, as well as privacy, while Morgan recovers.

"Tracy has been transferred to an undisclosed rehab center, where he is expected to remain for the next few weeks. While he is continuing to show signs of improvement, he still has a long way to go," Morgan's rep said in a statement.

The horrific car accident on June 7th claimed the lift of comedian James McNair and left Morgan and two other passengers severely injured. Kevin Roper, the truck driver who slammed into the back of Morgan's vehicle, was reportedly speeding at the time and was sleep-deprived. Roper, who initially claimed responsibility for the accident and turned himself in to police, has pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him.

"We remain mindful of the victims and continue to express our deepest sympathies to the family of James McNair, and our heartfelt wishes for a full recovery of those who suffered injuries in the accident," Roper's attorney said on Friday. "While this case continues to remain in the spotlight, we have no interest in commenting on rumor or speculation, exchanging a news conference for a jury, or sacrificing Mr. Roper's presumption of innocence for a sound bite."

Morgan was quite seriously injured in the accident and was in critical condition for several days until doctors announced that he was slowly improving and now, has been transferred to a rehab facility. Members of the public have been voicing their support for the "30 Rock" and "SNL" actor ever since news of the accident broke.

"He and (fiancée) Megan wanted to publicly express their deepest gratitude to everyone at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for the unbelievable care and attention they provided," the rep added.
