Trump's Georgia indictment: 5 things to know

Biden uses Trump's indictment and arrest for fundraising

The latest developments in the legal case against Trump coming out of Georgia did not go unnoticed by President Joe Biden, who is his likely Democratic opponent for the 2024 presidential election if he wins the Republican nomination. In a 7:30 p.m. ET post on X Thursday, Biden declared “Apropos of nothing, I think today’s a great day to give to my campaign.”

The current RealClearPolitics average of polls measuring voters’ intentions in the 2024 presidential election, shows Biden beating Trump by 2 percentage points.
