Tyra Banks News: Model-TV Host Splits With Father of Her Child
Tyra Banks and the father of her child have parted ways.
While Banks and boyfriend Erik Asla managed to keep their romantic relationship away from the prying public eyes, it is a known fact that the two had been in a relationship since 2013. However, according to a source of People magazine, the Norwegian photographer has already moved out of the L.A. home he used to share with the ''America's Next Top Model'' creator and ''America's Got Talent'' host.
Supposedly, Banks and Asla had struggled with their relationship since the birth of their son, 20-month-old son York, who was conceived via gestational surrogate. Despite the falling apart of the relationship, though, the incognito source said that Banks and Asla will continue to have a friendly relationship.
"It came drama-free and they're co-parenting their young son," revealed the source of Page Six, which was the first to report about the split of the two.
To recall, Banks previously admitted that she had fertility issues and struggled to get pregnant and that she even underwent IVF procedures with the hope that she can conceive.
"The journey to now has not been an easy process, as I've shared before. But there was a beautiful bright light at the end of the tunnel for me and his father, Erik.As I gaze into the beautiful eyes of my son, I think about all the people who struggle with fertility or carrying a child and continue to pray for them every day. My hopes and dreams are filled with well wishes that they get to feel what my little treasure, York Banks Asla, feels like in my arms," Banks once told People magazine via a statement after the birth of York in January last year.
Apart from deciding to be friends for the sake of their child, the source also went to reveal that Banks and Asla will continue to work professionally. In fact, Asla is reportedly doing the shoot for the opening credits of the upcoming cycle 24 of ''America's Next Top Model,'' which is slated to air this December on VH1.
