'UFC 2' News: 'UFC 2' Teased By EA, Promising Better Gameplay And 'New Online And Offline Experiences'
The mixed martial arts fighting game "EA Sports UFC" is getting another title in the series. Electronic Arts announced last November 10 that it will be releasing "EA Sports UFC 2" in the spring of 2016. EA also released the first teaser trailer for the game. According to a report in Polygon, the game's developer is promising major changes and upgrades in the game. The first game in the series that was released in June 2014 had some gameplay issues that turned off some gamers.
The teaser trailer titled "EA Sports UFC 2 Vision" does not show any gameplay video yet. It instead features live-action shots of actual MMA fights, with a narrator saying that EA's strategy for "mapping out" the sequel looked at where the first game excelled and areas for further improvement. The narrator also mentions the role of the game's fans in giving feedback. It also touted that the developers have made it "… a priority to sharpen our fundamentals…The payoff is the smoothest, most responsive set of movements ever available in an MMA game."
Among the new things that players will find in the sequel is its "new, physics-driven reactions," as well as a whole slew of "new online and offline experiences." These new experiences were not detailed as of yet. The Polygon report, however, noted that one of the shots in the video showed a menu for an Ultimate Team Mode, which, according to the report, will be a first for an individual sports game such as UFC. EA also promised a full reveal on November 13, so fans will be watching out for more details on the upcoming game.
"EA Sports UFC 2" will be arriving in the spring of 2016 for current generation consoles, the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. No announcement has been made whether a mobile version of the game will be released as well. The first game of the series was released in June 2014, followed by a mobile free-to-play version for iOS and Android in April 2015.
