UFC News 2016: 911 Call Recording Of Brawl Involving Female Fighter Surfaces

The 911 calls from bar employees about UFC bantamweight fighter Julianna Pena and the bar brawl she was involved in last December.

In a report by MMA Fighting, entertainment news outlet TMZ obtained the recordings of the calls of employees from Zola, a bar in Spokane, Washington. Pena, along with teammate and training partner Josh Gow, reportedly kicked the bar owner in the groin twice, and an employee, once, after the two were refused entry.

According to a December 21 report by Marc Raimondi for the same publication, Gow and Pena were already involved in another brawl prior to the one in Zola, this time in a nearby bar called Globe. Gow was also reported to be bloodied up when he and Pena were about to enter Zola.

Witnesses claim that both persons were "clearly drunk" during the time of the second incident. The 26-year-old Pena, who is also the winner of the 18th edition of the Ultimate Fighter reality show, was then arrested at 2:20 am on December 20th by the Spokane Police Department and was booked into the Spokane County Jail. She was charged with two counts of assault, but was released 12 hours later after posting bail.

According to the 911 call, employees appeared to be worried by the situation, given that both Gow and Pena were professional mixed martial arts fighters.

"They're professional fighters. They're gonna f*ck sh*t up," one employee was heard saying in the said call. Pena is now booked for a pre-trial conference on January 19th, at the Spokane Municipal Court.

Based on the city's municipal code, she is facing a fine that would not go beyond $5,000, imprisonment that would last a year, maximum, or both.

Pena (7-2, with six victories by stoppage), last fought Jessica Eye at UFC 192 last October, where she won by unanimous decision.
