Upcoming Android Phones 2015: Oppo Launches Duo of Entry-Level Smartphones Running KitKat
Oppo may not be the most popular Chinese manufacturer in the market, but it continues to provide an option for Android phone shoppers, particularly in Asia.
Now, the phone manufacturer has unleashed two more entry-level handsets to cater to the more budget-conscious portion of the market.
According to a report by GSM Arena, Oppo has just announced its Neo 5 (2015) and Neo 5s, which are expected to make an appearance in the Chinese market in the coming days.
A successor to the Neo 5 (2014), the Neo 5 (2015) packs some pretty entry-level specs such as a 4.5-inch display with a 854 x 480 pixel resolution, 1GB of RAM, a MediaTek MT6582 chipset, 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex-A7, and only 8GB of built-in memory. Fortunately, the device has a microSD card slot for expansion.
Other specs include an 8MP primary camera, a 2MP front shooter, a 2,000mAh battery and Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat out of the box.
Meanwhile, the only difference between the Oppo Neo 5 (2015) and the Neo 5s is the latter's Snapdragon 410 chipset, which is powered by a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz.
Like Oppo's other smartphones, the two Neo 5 smartphones will get the manufacturer's very own Color OS, version 2.0.1.
The report did not mention any further details about availability or pricing.
