'Vampire Diaries' Season 7 Cast News, Spoilers: Kat Graham Announces Exit

"The Vampire Diaries" will soon lose one of its original cast members.

Actress Kat Graham, who plays the powerful witch Bonnie Bennett on The CW's long-running supernatural drama series, has confirmed that she is exiting the series after its upcoming eighth season.

In a recent interview with Us Weekly, the actress, who has been with "Vampire Diaries" since it aired its pilot episode in 2009, said, "Season eight will be my last season."

Speaking from the iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday, April 3, Graham told Us that it will be hard to say goodbye to the "Vampire Diaries" crew.

"I just hope that whatever I do after, the crew can come with me," the actress said. "If the crew can come with me, then we'll be good. The crew is going to be the hardest thing to let go, because we are a family."

"But you know what, another season is a whole other year, and we're going to blow it out," she shared.

The "Vampire Diaries" leading lady's exit follows that of former star Nina Dobrev, who played main protagonist Elena Gilbert on the show's first six seasons, and of co-star Michael Trevino, who portrayed the werewolf Tyler Lockwood and left after the show's season 6.

While The CW announced in March that the popular vampire drama has been renewed for an eighth season, it is unclear if the network will continue to air the show beyond season 8. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the season 7 renewal was said to depend on lead actor Ian Somerhalder's return to the series.

According to Graham, Bonnie will go through some emotional scenes as season 7 nears its conclusion. In recent episodes, the character has teamed up with Damon (Somerhalder) to defeat Rayna (Leslie-Anne Hufff) and survived an attack by Tyler (Trevino).

In the next episode of "Vampire Diaries," titled "I Went to the Woods," Stefan (Paul Wesley) finds himself in a life-or-death situation, Rayna uncovers a new threat, and Damon goes after an unusual lead.

"The Vampire Diaries" airs Fridays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
