Vivo X5Pro Specs, Release Date: Android Midranger Coming to India Soon, Will Get Steep Pricing
Vivo is among the Chinese manufacturers that have gained popularity in their homeland and are now aiming to expand in India.
According to a report by GSM Arena, the phone maker will make its new handset, the Vivo X5Pro, available for the Indian market in the coming weeks. Launched in May this year, the X5Pro is a midranger that packs most of the basic features of any smartphone.
However, with a specs sheet that includes a 5.2-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 2GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 615 chipset, 13MP primary camera and 5MP front shooter, it can be labelled easily as a midrange device.
Unfortunately for Indian Android fans who may be interested, the Vivo X5Pro is not priced as aggressively as other Chinese-made brands in the country. In the report, the device will reportedly cost INR 27,980 or about $439. This pricing simply does not cut it for Vivo, especially in a market that is dominated by other Indian brands like Karbonn and Micromax.
Another smartphone that packs similar specs to the Vivo X5Pro is the Meizu M2 Note that was recently released in China and other Asian countries. The Android-powered handset packs a 5.5-inch 1080p resolution display, gets 2GB of RAM, an octa-core CPU, 13MP/5MP camera combo, and Android 5.0 Lollipop. In spite the similarity in specs to the X5Pro, the M2 Note is much cheaper at only about $160.
