Sony Xperia Z5 vs Google Nexus 5X Specs Review: Features Comparison - Which Mobile Is Best?

The new Google Nexus handset from LG, the Google Nexus 5X, was just unveiled last September, but it is already proving to be a worthy competitor among the Android smartphones in the market. The new Nexus is comparable to the Sony Xperia Z5 in specs, and Android users would like to know which device is better between the two.

Using the compare feature of Phone Arena, the Sony Xperia Z5 wins based on the design. The Xperia Z5 is made from metal with glass accents, while the Nexus 5X is made from solid polycarbonate material. The LG handset is offered in three colors, which are ice, carbon, and quartz, while the Sony device is available in black, gold, green, and white.

The two phones have a similar display, but the Google Nexus 5X comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 instead of just tempered glass screen for the Xperia Z5. However, the Z5 wins again on what's under the hood between the two devices. The Xperia smartphone is powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 with 3 GB RAM, compared to Nexus 5X's Snapdragon 808 with 2 GB RAM. Both devices come with 32 GB built-in storage, but Nexus 5 loses in the storage department since it does not have a microSD slot, where the Xperia Z5 can be upgraded to up to 200 GB.

The Google Nexus 5X, however, supports USB Type-C, which is also reversible, unlike with the Z5 that only has microUSB. The new Google Nexus also has a slight edge, in terms of the running operating system of the device, since it was released with preloaded Android 6.0, compared to the Z5's Android 5.1 OS. However, the Xperia Z5 is expecting an update for the new Android Marshmallow, within the year or early 2016, as reported by GSM Arena.

Lastly, Sony Xperia Z5 edges it out again by having a 23-megapixel camera, compared to the Nexus 5X's 12.3-megapixel camera.

The Sony Xperia Z5 may be a better phone overall than the Google Nexus 5X, but the difference is not that big. The Nexus smartphone is not too bad for any Android user, considering that it is only priced at $380, compared to the Z5's $830 price tag, according to Realty Today.
