'Wonder Woman' News: Gal Gadot Shares Her Experience As Wonder Woman
Now that Gal Gadot has finally debut her portrayal of Wonder Woman in the recently released "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," there is a lot of excitement for the upcoming DC film "Wonder Woman."
The popular DC superhero will be featured in her own stand alone film in the upcoming year. Despite previous criticisms on the casting of Gadot for the character, fans are still looking forward to see Wonder Woman on the big screen.
It was revealed that Gadot was found by a casting director while she was studying law. After receiving roles on big name films such as "Fast and Furious," her fame has led her to taking on the iconic DC role.
Gadot recently spoke to Variety about her experience in portraying Wonder Woman. She explained when she was growing up in Israel, she was not a big fan of comics. However, she was still aware of who Wonder Woman was.
In preparing for the role, she explained that even though she did research on the character, the executive producers behind the film already had a certain interpretation on how the character will be presented for the upcoming film.
Nevertheless, Gadot seemed to be passionate about portraying the role of Wonder Woman. She said, "All I needed to do was embody everything they had planned for this character. And it's amazing. Honestly, it's my dream role. I love her so much."
Even though she is in denial that she will star in an upcoming standalone film, Gadot shared what she liked the most about Wonder Woman. She said, "Everything she stands for is something I can relate to. She's very compassionate; she's all about love and peace. She's so strong and independent but sophisticated and with such emotional intelligence. She's the perfect woman."
'Wonder Woman" is expected to hit theaters on Jun. 23, 2017.
