'World Of Warcraft' 11th Anniversary News: What's In Store For Gamers This Year?
Last year's 10th anniversary of the "World of Warcraft" brought huge rewards and gifts for long-time players of the game. As "World of Warcraft" marks its 11th year this year, the rewards as expected are not as big as the previous year's. However, there are quite a few that players can look forward to this year. According to a report in Tech Times, although the rewards this year are "tame" compared to last year's, loyal players should still want to avail of them.
Game publisher Blizzard announced what's in store for players come November 16. According to a report in Kotaku, all players need to do is to check their mailbox between November 16 to 30. They will receive mail with a box that contains the in-game rewards that they will receive. These include:
- Celebration Package: gives 11% experience boost from kills for one hour with a 10 second cooldown
- A Celebration wand that has a Gnoll disguise and is equipped with five charges
- Another Celebration wand that has a Murloc disguise and also with five charges
- A costume set of Edwin VanCleef, the Deadmines boss
- An inflatable Thunderfury, the Blessed Blade of the Windseeker, which gives the player the Feat of Strength
Aside from these game goodies, a report in iDigital Times also said that players who are able to log in between now and then will be receiving the "WoW's 11th Anniversary Achievement." The report, however, did not indicate what additional benefits this brings to players.
For players who want to join the social media conversation around the anniversary, there is also a special hashtag (#11YearsOfWoW) that they can use to share WoW stories with other people.
Although the game is 11 years of age, it is still widely considered as one of the pioneers in the MMO genre. The game is expecting another expansion pack called "World of Warcraft: Legion" which is set to arrive "on or before" September 21, 2016. "Legion" will bring a new class with its own weapons and armor. It was showcased during Blizzcon 2015.
