WWE News: Diva Nikki Bella Undergoes Neck Surgery; Rival Company Bares How WWE 'Tried To Shut Them Down'
World Wrestling Entertainment diva Nikki Bella recently gave updates on her current physical condition.
Speaking to E! Online, the other half of tag team stable The Bella Twins revealed that she was requiring surgery for her broken neck and herniated disk. She also revealed that what makes her condition much worse than usual is that there are still some disks behind her vertebrae which require attention.
She is set to find out if she will be able to get back in the ring in six months time, when her final x-ray is released.
"There is a potential that this is career-ending," Bella said. "We will only know that when I get out of surgery on Wednesday and then basically how the bone heals Wednesday."
In another series of tweets she posted on Tuesday, Bella declared that she would indeed be back, describing her current situation as a "test of will and strength.
Nikki's boyfriend, wrestler John Cena, was by her side as the surgery pushed through last Wednesday. Fox Sports reported that the operation was a success.
Nikki Bella last saw action on October 25 at Hell in a Cell where she failed to regain the Divas Championship against Charlotte.
Meanwhile, a rival promotion company of the WWE recently spoke up about how they were almost run out of business. Speaking in an interview with the Wrestling Mayhem Show (which was reported by Cageside Seats), Lucha Underground co-executive producer Chris DeJoseph spoke about how the WWE tried to "shut them down."
In the interview, DeJoseph says WWE executives tried to sign the entire roster of Lucha Underground to its developmental branch NXT. He also says he feels the WWE has done the same to other companies as well, namely Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) and Ring of Honor (ROH).
"It makes sense for them to pay someone $750 a week, put them into developmental and then in the meantime, they try to take away a company's roster," DeJoseph said.
The report adds that the WWE did try to sign three of Lucha Underground's active talents: Prince Puma, Angélico, and Jack Evans.
