WWE Rumors and News 2016: Roman Reigns vs Chris Jericho Rumored for Clash of Champions
The Guy out of Universal Title picture?
The WWE Universe constantly worries about Vince McMahon's tendencies to ruin storylines. The Kevin Owens Universal Championship run is both unexpected and promising, but last Monday on Raw, Roman Reigns was booked to a match against Owens that could earn him a shot at the title.
Fans hate Reigns so much, that if he gets involved in a heel versus face match between Owens and Seth Rollins for the belt, the crowd will probably cheer for both KO and Rollins. However, rumor has it that "The Guy" would not be inserted in the feud—or at least, not the championship feud. Instead, he will reportedly face Chris Jericho on Clash of Champions.
Raw is Jericho
When talking about the best (or worst) heels in WWE history, the name Chris Jericho would surely be on the top five. He might not have the brawn that Stone Cold Steve Austin and Triple H possessed, but he is a force to be reckoned with on the microphone.
Furthermore, he is not a pushover off the ring, either. Y2J reportedly had an altercation with the Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar backstage, right after SummerSlam 2016. Jericho was not informed that Lesnar's match against Randy Orton was planned to end with Orton getting cut open.
As a result, the 5'10" Jericho took on the 6'2" 266 lbs. monster after the latter shed Orton's blood in-ring. The act of standing up to the big guy reportedly earned him bigger opportunities from Vince McMahon, including a possible title run.
One of those opportunities, as rumors went, could be a feud against McMahon's favorite guy, Reigns.
The Heel vs The Guy
With Owens and Rollins both at the top of the Raw food chain, it looks like Reigns would have to find another superstar to feud with. He would have to wait for Rusev—with whom he went against at SummerSlam—until after the Bulgarian's honeymoon with Lana.
That said, booking him against Jericho would be the best option. Jericho is currently allied with Owens, their team dubbed JeriKO. The feud is rumored to start with Jericho costing Reigns the title opportunity during his match against KO next week on Raw. It is set to peak with a match between the two at Clash of Champions.
This way, Reigns would not ruin the Owens vs. Rollins moment at the PPV, and Jericho would once again solidify himself as the top bad guy in the WWE.
