WWE took to Twitter to share a clip of the much-awaited reunion. The tease showed The Shield also dubbed as The Hounds of Justice taking down The Miz and the "Raw" tag team effortlessly.

The A-lister has long since made himself an enemy of the former black-clad trio. Recently, Cesaro and Sheamus beat Reigns. In the WWE Universe, rivalries like these only open opportunities for more matches.

Wrestling fans were thrilled by the surprise, and some felt nostalgic.

The Shield last teamed up at Payback in 2014, when they clobbered Evolution. Rollins turned his back on his team the following night, leaving the WWE fans clamoring for a reunion ever since.

Pro-wrestling contributor Scoot Fishman was among the pool of fans who felt nostalgic about the reunion. In a twee, he wrote, "The Shield reunited. I can't." He then attached a gif of Donald Glover crying out, "My emotions! My emotions."

WWE's Peter Rosenburg was also excited about The Shield's comeback. He said that their reunion should be what Reigns needs because ever since he parted with the team he has been a divisive figure in the WWE Universe.

The match is most likely the first of many. To make things more interesting, Braun Strowman has been added to the TLC Match, WWE has confirmed. He will side with The Miz, Cesaro, and Sheamus in future matches.
