WWE Star AJ Styles News: WWE Champion Makes Appearance in Independent Wrestling Show
WWE Champion AJ Styles recently made a surprise appearance at an independent wrestling show over the weekend.
Despite already making it big in WWE, having bagged the World Championship and the United States Championship, it looks like he is not forgetting about the things and the people who have helped him launch his career in professional wrestling.
Styles shocked the crowd at the recent NWA Wildside Reunion Show in Cornelia, Georgia, as he made his grand entrance as one of the special guests of the show. He was said to have been sporting his WWE United States Championship belt as well.
According to Inquisitr, the reason behind his appearance at the show had to do with NWA Wildside being a part of a multi-company merger, which also included the company that Styles started out with back in 1998, the National Championship Wrestling.
He debuted as the masked wrestler named Mr. Olympia.
After a successful career in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) and New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW), Styles set foot into the WWE ring at last year's Royal Rumble, which took place at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.
According to Sportskeeda, when asked about what he considers to be the greatest moment in his phenomenal career, Styles said, "My debut in the Royal Rumble was the biggest moment of my career!"
The 40-year-old wrestler added, "I was quite overwhelmed by the support shown by WWE fans and that is something I will never forget."
He also revealed that not much has changed with his wrestling style over the years.
"I never changed my style with respect to how my wrestle," Styles said. "The only difference was that WWE has a lot more cameras facing you than the independent circuit, but I think that was just a learning curve that you need to go through and it has really helped me," he went on to say.
Over his two years in WWE, Styles has continued to impress everyone with his performances, especially when he took down Kevin Owens at WWE Summerslam to extend his run as the U.S. Champion.
