'X-Men: Apocalypse' Premiere Date, Cast & Update: New & Different Jean Grey; Olivia Munn Joins as Psylocke

Just a few months left until the superhero film "X-Men: Apocalypse" will hit theaters. According to a report by Polygon, the last in director Bryan Singer's trilogy will premiere on May 27. Several fans are already excited to catch a new film from the "X-Men" series especially since this upcoming one will involve the toughest and most powerful nemesis, Apocalypse, the character played by Oscar Isaac.

Den of Geek detailed that "X-Men: Apocalypse" will pick up after the events of "X-Men: Days of Future Past," which means that it will bring back casts like James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult to reprise their roles. Another character that fans can expect to see in the upcoming film is Jean Grey who will be played by "Game of Thrones" star Sophie Turner.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the Jean Grey in the film will have a new and unique take as she would be different from the Grey that Famke Janssen played in the four "X-Men" titles. Turner's version of Grey will be "insecure."

"The difference between this and Famke's Jean Grey is she's young and isolated and so insecure and very alienated – even from the other mutants – because she's so powerful," said Turner. "So there's a real vulnerability to her and it's great to see how her and Scott [Tye Sheridan] find each other through that alienation," she added.

Moreover, the official trailer of the film has been released already, and though it runs for about two minutes only, fans are already given an idea on what to expect from the film. Featured in the trailer is actress Olivia Munn, and according to USA Today, she will be playing the role of Psylocke, a sword-wielding, martial arts mastering, telepathic mutant.

And since Munn's character involves lots of action with a sword, the "Magic Mike" actress revealed during the Vanity Fair-Fiat Young Hollywood Party that she underwent training for sword and tae kwon do.
