'XCOM 2' News: System Requirements Revealed, New Trailer Released
With the turn-based tactics game just a few months away from being released for PC, Steam recently revealed what a player needs to be able to play "XCOM 2." According to a report in PC Gamer, the system requirements for the upcoming game are "pretty light," such as having a Windows 7 OS, a 2.6 GHz processor and at least 4 GB of RAM.
The system requirements were revealed on Steam a few days ago and the minimum requirements for playing against the Sectoid are a 64-bit Windows 7 OS, a 2.6 GHz processor (Intel Core 2 Duo E4700 or AMD Phenom 9950 Quad Core), at least 4 GB of RAM and for the graphics card, a 1 GB ATI Radeon HD 5570 or a 1 GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 or better. The storage space that is required by the game to be available is 45 GB, while the DirectX version in use should be Version 11. The PC's sound card must also be DirectX compatible.
The other alien race that players must face in "XCOM 2" is the Mechtoid and in order to play, the system requirements are a bit higher, with the game needing a processor speed of 3 GHz Quad Core, 8 GB of RAM, and, for the graphics, 2 GB ATI Radeon HD 7970, 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 or better. The same storage space is required, as well as the same sound card that is DirectX compatible.
An internet connection is also necessary as players have to go through the Steam authentication process in order to play the game.
The game's trailer, which was released a few days ago, also confirmed that players are waging a new kind of war against the aliens who are already ruling over humans. Set in a world where aliens have taken full control, the players play the role of guerrillas who must continue the fight. The trailer outlined the main mission of the players: "You must rebuild the XCOM project, expose the aliens' true agenda and renew humanity's will to fight."
