According to the report by GSM Arena, the Android-powered handset boasts a 5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, a quad-core 1.7GHz CPU, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 615 chipset, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory.

Other specs include a 13MP primary camera, 5MP selfie shooter, 3,120mAh battery, and Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out of the box. The only negative feature of the device is the absence of a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

The handset will be aimed at the mass market, which is composed of consumers who are looking for a higher-end Android handset but with a midranger price tag.

A couple of weeks ago, Xiaomi introduced the device in the Indian sub-continent via a flash sale. In the report, 40,000 units were immediately sold out and went out of stock in just 4.2 seconds.

In the report, the Xiaomi Mi 4i will retail at about $210 in Singapore, and $205 in Hong Kong.

In addition to the Mi 4i, the Chinese brand is also beginning to introduce its Mi Note Pro and Mi Note handsets – initially to the Asian markets.
