Xiaomi Mi Note Pro Specs, Release Date: Android Phablet's Next-Gen Edition Could Get 10-Core Chipset?
The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro is the first high-end device to be announced this year, though the device has not yet been released in markets outside of China.
While non-Chinese Xiaomi and Android fans are waiting for the Mi Note Pro, there is a report claiming that the successor to the high-end phablet would get a deca-core CPU.
According to a report by Phone Arena, MediaTek has just unveiled the Helio X20 chipset that is composed of 10 cores running at the same time.
The news came from DigiTimes, which claims that the chip maker will be working with Xiaomi in developing its upcoming high-end device.
In the report, the deca-core chip 'is expected to attract orders from Xiaomi', as mentioned by the DigiTimes.
So how long before this rumor would turn out to be true?
In the report, the MediaTek Helio X20 chipset would be running on smartphones as early as the final quarter of this year.
The report also mentioned that Xiaomi, which has only been in the market for less than five years, may finally launch its smartphones in North America, particularly the U.S.
There were also rumors that Qualcomm would develop its own deca-core SoC, dubbed as the Snapdragon 818, though there are no other reports to confirm it.
