Xiaomi Mi5 Rumors, Specs, Release Date: Upcoming Flagship Tipped to Finally Cross 1080p Boundary
In spite the tight mobile market competition in China, it is surprising how Xiaomi manages to keep its sales high given its rivals in its home market.
The Chinese brand's first top-seller is the Mi3, which is still on sale in some retailers across Asia. Xiaomi has since followed suit with the Mi4, several midrangers, and a couple of high-end devices.
Unfortunately, the phone maker still chooses to focus in China.
However, as early as now, there are already reports surrounding the Xiaomi Mi5.
According to a report by Phone Arena, the Mi5 would be the flagship lineup's first ever QHD (2560 x 1440) smartphone.
The rumor came from a Chinese blog that allegedly confirmed some specs. Some alleged specs of the Xiaomi Mi5 include a 5.2-inch display with the 1440p resolution, a whopping 4GB RAM, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chipset, and at least 3,000mAh battery.
Other specs include a 16MP primary shooter that reportedly boasts optical image stabilization (OIS), and a fingerprint scanner that is located at the phone's home button.
Given the recent announcement schedule for its Mi flagships, the Mi5 could make an appearance by Q3, several weeks before companies release their big guns to end the year with a bang.
Of course, of all these details are mere rumors, so you better take these with a pinch of salt.
