Xiaomi Not Planning to Launch Smartphones in US Any Time Soon

Xiaomi became a major threat in the mobile market last year after it officially dethroned Samsung as the top mobile maker in China. However, the Chinese manufacturer's success is still continuing, with new high-end devices announced and released earlier this year.

Unfortunately, for Android fans in the U.S. who are waiting for Xiaomi to directly make its smartphones available in the market, they may have to wait longer.

According to a report by GSM Arena, Xiaomi Vice President Hugo Barra, who was once a member of the Android department in Google, talked with tech website Recode in a conference and shared some details about the company's future plans.

In the statement, while Xiaomi has future plans of releasing smartphones in the U.S. in the long term, there are still no exact timeframe about that.

Barra, who made a similar statement in the past, made it clear that Xiaomi wants to ensure that the market it will be entering is ready for the taking. Specifically, he was referring to the presence and operations of customer services, which would be crucial in increasing the satisfaction levels of consumers.

Currently, Xiaomi has a number of Android devices in the market ranging from the flagship level, to the upper midranges, to midrange's and to entry-level handsets.
