Zac Efron Rumors: Former 'High School Musical' Actor to Star as Laurie Strode's Son in 'Halloween' Sequel

While it remains unclear whether Zac Efron is joining the cast of the sequel to the 1978 "Halloween" movie, it is now speculated that the former teen heartthrob will play the role of Laurie Strode's (Jamie Lee Curtis) son in the movie.

Speculations on Efron joining the cast of the sequel to "Halloween" stemmed from the actor's Twitter post last Tuesday, October 31, showing him in a photo alongside Curtis. While Efron did not announce anything related to his possible inclusion in the movie sequel, his caption to the photo, saying "On Michael Myer's patrol" is believed to be a hint that he is onboard the project.

Some opine that Efron and Curtis' photo together was not just a random shot. As Curtis also posted a photo showing her with the infamous "Halloween" character Michael Myers, which she captioned with the words "Some wounds never heal," suspicions on Efron being a part of the sequel have become even louder.

As it is already a known fact that Curtis will reprise her Laurie Strode character, it is suspected that Efron will play the character of Curtis' son in the movie. While Curtis hinted on her post that her Laurie Strode character is still not over from the trauma that she experienced in the hands of Michael Myers, it is also said that it is likely for the "Halloween" direct sequel to also feature Efron's character as Michael Myers' new target.

While it is, indeed, possible for Efron to be a part of the "Halloween" sequel, fans are advised to take everything with a grain of salt for now until an official announcement is made. However, in the event that the former "High School Musical" heartthrob has bagged a role in the horror classic sequel, it is interesting to note that it will be his first time to star in a horror/thriller genre as his previous projects were mostly comedies, musicals, and some dramas.
