Zoe Saldana Pregnant News: Actress on Having Babies Out of Wedlock - 'Do it Right'
Zoe Saldana recently shared her thoughts on having babies outside of wedlock during an appearance on "The Talk."
The "Guardians of the Galaxy" star, 36, spoke candidly about the importance of doing things the "right" way when it comes to becoming a parent.
She also acknowledged freedom of choice and she recounted her own upbringing to illustrate a point about not all marriages being good marriages.
"I think it's important to remember that God gave us a will, or the universe gave us the right to choose what is right for us," Saldana said on the popular talk show.
"I was a product of a very painful marriage of people that loved each other but just couldn't make things work between them," she explained. "Once they decided to separate they were the most amazing parents, and the most amazing and happy people apart."
The Hollywood actress is currently pregnant and gossip sites have speculated that she may be expecting twins; however, she is yet to confirm this. She married Marco Perego in June last year.
"So sometimes people get married for all the wrong reasons, so I say wait if you want to believe in marriage, and do it right. Be happy, and try to make it work and if it's not … have kids. It's great!" she said.
The "Avatar" actress and the Italian artist, 34, are said to be thrilled about the baby news as they have wanted a baby for some time.
"I'm Latin — we start young, honey!" Saldana once said on "The Conversation With Amanda de Cadenet."
"At 22 you're like, 'I just wanna hold something!' You want a little critter," she explained.
Saldana, who was once engaged to actor Keith Britton, once revealed her hopes for a large family.
"Two or three ... or four or five! I don't care. They're just so delicious," she said.
"I love the anxiety, the pressure of the loud room full of yapping kids ... I get along very well with animals and children. ... A child makes perfect sense to me. A child speaks more sense than an adult half of the time," she added.
